Hill View Farm . Kent TN15

Hill View Farm . Kent TN15

The design of a new family house set in the Kent countryside maximises the spectacular views from the site. A dramatic stone wall bisects the house and controls the approach to the house by guiding visitors around to the west facing entrance.  A long horizontal slot frames the view as you approach the entrance. The stone wall continues through the house establishing a division between the more private wing of the house overlooking the garden and the family wing to the north.

The palette of fine sawn grey slate, weathered timber and dark zinc cladding reflects the rural context and draws references from local vernacular agricultural buildings. Double height entrance hall and living areas produce a palpable sense of space and light.

The building incorporates the latest in sustainable servicing.
